The largest two-wheeler shop in the Netherlands
Exhibition organiser Easyfairs will launch ‘the largest two-wheeler shop in the Netherlands’ in September 2023. In addition to trusted retailers, the event will now target consumers looking for a broad orientation on a new sports bike, e-bike, city bike, cargobike, scooter or e-scooter/moped. The event is scheduled for consumers on Saturday 16 September and Sunday 17 September 2023. For retailers, the opportunity to meet suppliers and brands remains on Sunday 17 September and Monday 18 September 2023 at Evenementenhal Gorinchem, The Netherlands.
Organiser Mascha de Bruin of Easyfairs is eagerly looking forward to the first consumer edition of Velovak, called Velo Festival. “With the launch, we are jumping into a gap. There is currently no event that focuses on the total package of two-wheelers for consumers, while the same consumer needs an overview more than ever. The choice in e-bikes, road bikes and other types of two-wheelers is huge. At the consumer edition of Velovak, you have the range of, say, many bicycle shops together. That gives overview and inspiration.”
According to De Bruin, few sectors are as dynamic as this sector. “The popularity of the two-wheeler has never been greater. On the exhibition floor, we are capitalising on this with a large test track, allowing consumers to test out and compare different models. By doing so, we help consumers make the right buying decision.”
Hybrid event bringing together both trade and consumers
Easyfairs deliberately chooses a broad consumer event. De Bruin: “An event only for the sporty cyclist or only for the recreational cyclist is a bit outdated. The sporty cyclist goes on a tour on Sunday, but goes to work by bike on Monday and takes the children to school by cargo bike on Tuesday. That’s why we choose to offer a wide variety.”
Trade event Velovak has been the annual landmark for the trade for five years and will not disappear in 2023. This edition will be a hybrid event taking place on Saturday 16, Sunday 17 and Monday 18 September 2023 at Evenementenhal Gorinchem, The Netherlands. The Saturday will be aimed exclusively at consumers, Sunday for both consumers and the trade and on Monday will focus solely on the trade.
With the arrival of the consumer days, a long-cherished wish of exhibitors is coming true. De Bruin: “Many of our exhibitors want to show their new offerings directly to consumers as well, so they can make the best choices.”
Easyfairs expects “the largest two-wheeler shop in the Netherlands” to grow into the largest consumer orientation event in the Netherlands. At the event, various exhibitors will present the latest models of bikes, while consumers will also find cycling accessories such as helmets, clothing, bags and locks.
